Ann-Marie and Jared's Wedding

Mantells, Auckland

I'm sure there are lots of professions that can make this claim, but being a wedding photographer brings so much variety to life. Every couple makes their wedding day uniquely their own and I love coming across different ways to make the timing work.  In Ann-Marie and Jared's case they booked me for just 5 hours but arranged for me to capture some of Ann-Marie's precious getting ready moments and family photos before a first look and the ceremony at the always wonderful Mantell's.  Including any pre-ceremony happenings is such an integral part of wedding day storytelling; even if it's only 30 minutes worth I always enjoy this time.

Ann-Marie looked absolutely incredible and it was such a buzz to watch the compliments flow thick and fast when her family saw her in her dress.  Bride and groom struck a stunning pair on the day and were so natural together in front of the camera. After the besotted first look at Cornwall Park and an easy-going time with the bridal party, it was awesome to be able to sneak the couple away from the venue to some of my favourite close-by backdrops.  I sing the praises of Mantell's every time so I'll simply say 'Great choice' this time (my 12th wedding there!).  Capturing the candid moments of the newlyweds and their guests in beautiful lighting and surroundings is my favourite part of a wedding.  The ceremony nerves have eased, everyone is enjoying the company, the food and the wine and I get to be a wedding-photography ninja, ha!

Congratulations Ann-Marie and Jared, I wish you both all the best.
