Jason and Ying's Wedding

Glasshouse Morningside, Auckland

It goes without saying that weddings are about a couple in love, but I also know that weddings are about the people who love the couple.  Ying and Jason's wedding day felt very much about their friends and family, as well as a celebration of their love for each other.  They were so at ease with each other, it was lovely to capture their connection.  My photography style definitely attracts a down-to-earth, easy-going demographic, which I am so grateful for.  Jason and Ying were no exception and every detail seemed to reflect their vibe.  After an intimate tea ceremony, we did the bridal party shoot at Wynyard Quarter which was awesome for a couple of reasons...  1. Concrete to walk on - not mushy, wet grass.  2. Murals and containers, and 3. Short travel time back to the venue.  So, with Ying's wedding dress still in pristine condition we headed back to the Glasshouse Morningside, and oh my, what a venue!  I loved the long tables, the trees, the natural aesthetic and the fairy lights.  Okay, I loved everything about it.  People might not expect this, but I also love a good photo booth, and Ying and Jason's wedding guests were expert 'boothers' so I was kept entertained capturing their fun.

This stunning wedding was a perfect balance of stylish details and a feeling of absolute love in the room... accurately summed up by the welcome sign: 'Hygge' "The cosiness, comfort and contentment borne from enjoying the simple moments in life with the ones you love."
